Hard Boiled the Movie is the anime adaptation of an upcoming slot machine game called Hard Boiled: Mirage of the Griffon, both produced by the Japanese company Sammy. The anime film premieres on October 10, 2008, and it tells the prologue to the game's detective action story - which takes place in the fictional country of Ukunatoru "where East meets West".
