Summer Wars trailer

Summer Wars is a new animation film coming from studio Madhouse and a team that reunites the director (Mamoru Hosoda), screenwriter and character designer of The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo). The movie's "action entertainment" story follows a modern-day family that embarks on a midsummer adventure together, at the behest of a 90-year-old woman. The lead characters are a couple of teenagers named Koiso Kenji (a 17-year-old guy great at math) and Shinohara Natsuki (a 18-year-old girl from her school's kendo club), alongside the elderly Jinnouchi Sakae. The latter is an obaa-san celebrating her 90th birthday, who pokes the younglings to go on a crazy mid-summer vacation. There's also a 13-year-old game freak named Ikezawa Kazuma, somewhere around there. Oh, and bulldozers... You'll see. « less
