The planet named Fargaia slowly but surely loses its green, and changes to the wasteland... Severe environment and the cruel monsters threatens life, people still hang on the planet. In such a wild world, there are adventurers who ask for a thrill or a dream. People call them "Migratory Bird".

Wild Arms: The Vth Vanguard continues the tradition of three main characters - this time, one guy and two girls. The male lead is Dean Stark, a 16-year-old boy who was raised in a quiet town and dreams of being a Golem Hunter. Dean takes his first steps towards realizing that dream when he meets one of the two female leads, Avalil Van Freul, a 20-year-old girl of unknown species who fell from the skies in the left arm of a Golem and remembers only one thing: the mysterious phrase "Johnny Appleseed". Also joining the cast is the 16-year-old Rebecca Streisand.
